Contendi AI is an AI-powered system to streamline the litigation funding transaction pipeline. The system’s purpose is to act as a screening tool to quickly gauge whether a case shows validity thereby expediting the case review process for the lawyer. 

Through a series of workshops with the lawyers we drew out the early case selection steps that are undertaken to assess the relative merits of a case.  We translated these steps into a working Proof of Concept  – an algorithm, with a user interface, that analyses case pre-selection factors and flags risk. 

• Our engagement to date has seen us
• Designed a decision tree, representing the decision flow undertaken during early case assessment.
• Developed a PoC custom tool/ algorithm using Optical Character Recognition  and Natural Language Processing coupled with rules-based logic to extract information and risk related to the parties and specific clauses in contracts.
• Built a user-application which gathers the information from the lawyer / claimant and presents the findings in terms of flags and found risks.

We are now embarking on phase 2 of the project, expanding the contract analysis capability and leveraging historic case data to inform case selection.
