Purpose

The HR Manager works in close collaboration with the Senior Management team to contribute to, and delivery the HR strategy for the Group, ensuring we foster a high-performance culture with a high level of employee engagement across the business.

This is a hands-on role, combining strategy with delivery of overall HR operations.

As HR Manager you will have high level of ethics, integrity, and accountability.

 

Main Responsibilities

HR General

  • Maintain an understanding of how the organisation operates including business requirements and commercial objectives. 
  • Take a lead role in ensuring that company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current employment legislation in UK and beyond.
  • Provide training and education to all employees in respect to policy & procedure to ensure compliance. Undertake regular compliance audits across the business.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the management and wider Elemental team on employment related requirements.
  • Continually review and consider how to further the people strategy within Elemental, working closely with the management team to implement new people initiatives that harness our high performance culture.

Talent Management

  • Oversee the talent management and professional development programmes across the group.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Oversee all recruitment activities across the Elemental Group, ensuring all roles are supported with approved business case.
  • Produce job descriptions and interview guidance notes for hiring managers.
  • Identify most suitable channels for sourcing candidates, leveraging the extensive Elemental network as well as 3rd party recruiters.
  • Undertake initial screening of candidates to include initial interviews.
  • Undertake all onboarding activities relating to new hires including new starter inductions.

Employee Relations

  • Support the management team to maintain the high levels of employee engagement, offering guidance and advice for all employee related issues.
  • Maintain Elemental’s people engagement initiatives across the global group, both remote and in-person, continually seeking innovative ways to engage a dispersed workforce.
  • Advise on all areas of sickness and absence management, undertake all absence monitoring and associated documentation & reporting and provide regular absence reports to the senior management team.

 

About You

As an experienced HR Professional, you will possess:

  • An HR qualification (CIPD or similar).
  • Proven HR generalist experience – typically between 3-5 years.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and ability to work closely with senior stakeholders.
  • High level of commercial acumen and demonstrable understanding of the business strategy and drivers. 
  • Good organisational and time management skills with ability to juggle multiple and conflicting priorities.
  • Hands-on approach. Willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team.
  • The highest standards of compliance, confidentiality, and ethics.
  • Based in the UK.
